This project consists of a number of collaborators from a variety of universities, non-profits, and independent practitioners. The initial ideas were brought to this network of collaborators by urban ecologist and former director of Communitree, Frances Taylor, industrial ecologist and former Executive Director of the International Society for Industrial Ecology, Paul Hoekman, and Boipelo Madonsela, circular economist currently working in the Extended Producer Responsibility space. They are the co-founders of the Untraceable University Research Institute, based out of Johannesburg (South Africa).
However, the project that has been developed so far has been the result of input and feedback from a large number of people who have generously spent many hours in meetings, workshops, and discussions. At this moment, these relationships are being formalised through the signing of Memorandums of Understandings with the respective universities and non-profits, based in South Africa, Colombia, Chile, and The Netherlands. We will therefore be able to formally announce our initial network of collaborators once this process has concluded, which is expected by the end of September 2024.
In the meantime we acknowledge the support of all those people that have participated in meetings, workshops and discussions around this topic with us since late 2022. For those interested in collaborating, please go here to review the various options to join our network.
